Berrien falls to Baker, gets ready for Turner

Berrien Boys led throughout the game but Baker made a run in the 4th quarter and won 58-56 Tuesday night in Nashville. Baker led 57-50 with 25 seconds remaining but the Rebels never gave up and hit two 3 pointers with 13.9 seconds remaining to have a chance to tie the game. After Baker made a free throw, Ked West drove the ball to the basket and was fouled. Although the boys didn't tie the game up, they showed great spirit and determination that will definitely help them in the long run. Berrien was led by Taurus Wilson, Khalid Lamar, and strong point play from Ked West.

Berrien took five days off before returning to practice yesterday to prepare to play state runner ups from last season, Turner County. Turner will bring a strong team into Nashville Tuesday night but Coach McClure is excited to see how the Rebels will play, "We know Turner will have a good team and we're up to a challenge. We are going to play hard and see what happens. With only 10 practices under our belt, I couldn't be more pleased with what we've done so far." "We're making great strides and hopefully we continue to get better, little by little."
